Not By Myself is a student-generated magazine published by Literacy South between 1992 and 1999. It was designed to be an outlet for students to publish their writing and to fill a gap in reading materials for adult learners that reflect their culture and experience.
The contributions cover a variety of topics and are of varying lengths and levels of difficulty. The writings for each issue were selected by a student advisory group and each volume includes a section about the production of that issue. This third volume includes writings from students in North Carolina, Mississippi, Florida Virginia and Georgia and an essay by Jereann King, "Beyond Stereotypes".
Not By Myself is illustrated with wonderful photos of most authors. The eight issues of Not By Myself, are available as a complete set (500-0039) at a special price.
