The goal of the Economic Literacy and Homeownership Project was to assist ABE practitioners implement the Fannie Mae Foundation's How to Buy Your Own Home curriculum, and to document how the participants use, adapt or revise it according to their program or learners' context.
The Project involved literacy practitioners form North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Louisiana. They were encouraged to think broadly about economic literacy and homeownership in developing their lesson and attention was paid to local economic and social realities. The report contains eight lesson plans developed during the Project and a series of reflections from the participants. Each lesson includes background; introduction; goal, objectives, EFF Standards and materials; activities; assessment; and comments and recommendations.
