"The National Reporting System (NRS) is a framework of five levels of English language, literacy and numeracy competence which operate across six social aspects. It is intended that the NRS will provide a national (Australian) common language to act as a reference point for providers, facilitate student pathways, and contribute to national information systems for accountability and planning purposes.
The NRS is also seen as having a role as a resource for incorporating language, literacy and numeracy into vocational curriculum and industry standards."
