"Everyone in Zotjana fears the water spirit and follows the custom of wearing green wool around their wrists for protection - except Bhormatjhini. Bhormatjhini rejected this as superstition. Then one day a storm came up out of nowhere and lightning struck Bormatjhini's hut. No evidence of his body was found after the flames died down and people argued for years afterwards about what had really happened to him."
