The EMPower curriculum engages learners in mathematical concepts and encourages them to articulate their thinking, share knowledge, and problem-solve together. Series topics give students a solid foundation in number sense; patterns, functions, and relations; geometry and measurement; and data, statistics and graphs.
In Seeking Patterns, Building Rules, students use a variety of representational tools - diagrams, words, tables, graphs, and equations - to understand linear patterns and functions. They connect the rate of change with the slope of a line, and compare linear with non-linear relationships. They gain facility with and comprehension of basic algebraic notations.
Three-hole punched with perforated pages for ease of handling.
